This sweet storage bench was custom made for Jesus and Clara of Durham NC. It features a 13" wide tongue and groove heart pine plank for the seat and 12" 100 year old southern yellow pine face and back. I used reclaimed hinges and flathead screws for the top, along with a piano hinge salvaged off of a curb-picked trunk that I found in Charlottesville, VA. The top and leg pieces came from the Albright farmstead thanks to the Eno River Association. They were installed vertically in the farmhouse around the fireplaces. They are estimated to be 80-100 years old and milled from wood off of the property. The face planks were salvaged in Efland, NC from a fallen down building along the railroad tracks estimated to be 100 years old. They were used as board and batt siding. The weathered side has beautiful greying and raised grain. The bottom of the storage compartment are tongue and groove yellow pine from Billy's grandfather's house, built in the mid 1940s. The bench is 48" wide x 20" high x 13" deep.
